After just one taxpayer protest, the electeds have had to readjust their plans.
In an emergency resolution introduced late this afternoon, the Board of Supervisors have amended their meals tax thoughts and cut them in half. (Some would say we saw this one coming!). So with one protest, we saved the taxpayer about $8 million annually in new taxes.
The good news is we are halfway to no new meals tax. We are working on the remaining $8,000,000 in new annual taxes.
Stand and fight!
This is easy peasy... (Maybe with our 6pm Taxpayer Protest tonight we can knock this whole meals tax train over!!!)
