11,865 Old Man Tuckers

So Chesterfield County employees 8,243 people through schools (only 4,512 teachers) and 3,622 through the county government.  The total depending on The Taxpayer??

11,865

If we add up the largest eight employers in Chesterfield County...
  1. Dupont
  2. UPS
  3. Walmart
  4. Chuppenham - Johnston Willis Medical Centers
  5. Ukrop's (soon to be Martin's)
  6. Vangent Call Center
  7. Capital One
  8. St. Francis Medical Center
We get 11,955 employees.  So Chesterfield County is as large as our eight largest employers combined.

To add to the point here is the Progress Index.
Excluding Chesterfield County, where the numbers are skewed by the populous Richmond suburbs, the jobless rate jumped back into double digits at 10.40 percent, just shy of last July's record high of 10.41 percent.
They exclude Chesterfield County because there is no commerical enterprise; only residential. Wow! Yet we can afford to have 11,865 people on The Taxpayer's payroll.
The exhaustion rate for jobless benefits climbed to 62.5 percent - that is, nearly two-thirds of the people who filed their first unemployment claims six months earlier had used up their benefits by January. Both of those figures were record highs.
Yet we can afford 11,865 salaries and benefits?

Here is some Taxpayer piece of advice... There is a song that applies to those in the 11,865 taxpayer funded positions.
"Get out the way old man Tucker.  You're too late to get your supper."
Let's remove regulation and bureaucratic barriers to production. We can no longer afford to waste time nor our hard earned cash on government for government's sake.

Taxpayers are frank; but, always polite. Use commonsense and write like you would to your mother...
